All Athletes- 9:00 am to 12:00 pm-All teams will be finalized, and athletes will be notified at the conclusion of the session. I know that all the athletes worked really hard during tryouts, and I want to ensure that everyone is respectful of those around them. While some athletes will be excited by the news, others might not be, please do not open your letters until you have left the DMAVB gym and are in your car. I appreciate your understanding.
Players only meeting 5 to 6During this time, we will review a lot of information about the DMAVB program, be sure to take notes athletes. We will discuss the DMAVB program and set proper expectations. We will also ensure that all athletes understand game day expectations, this includes how to execute each working assignment, setting up and taking down the nets, and review schedules for game and bus conflicts etc. The athletes should review the schedule and advise if they have any conflicts during this time. Note, we will review the away game bus policy which includes all JV and Varsity athletes riding the bus to and from each game as a team. There will be limited, prearranged exceptions. I do understand that the freshman year is a hard one. With feedback from last year the coaching staff decided that all Freshman athletes will need to take the bus to each away game, but are not mandated to take the bus home. I encourage everyone to review the schedule prior to the meeting.
Parent and player meeting 6 to 7:30I highly encourage all parents and guardians to attend this meeting. I know that most families send one representative, but I do implore everyone to join. We will not only review the DMAVB program, but will go in depth with playing time, parent and coaches meetings, parent work assignments and home game sign-ups. We will have a parent on each team who is responsible for the below, and I will go in depth about what each job entails. This year, we are going to do things a little differently, we will have a team parent but will also have others assigned to certain tasks to help with coordination and execution of each task. This will ensure that our athletes have the best time on and off the court, while not putting a huge burden on one person.
